GAMES DAY

The next games day is Saturday 27th May 2006, beginning at 11am in Meadow Park, Bathgate.  For details of the events held, visit the Games Association website.  For details of juvenile events, including solo piping, pipe bands, highland dancing and drum majors, click here.

Once again at the games, we will be bringing along the BHG Youth Marquee to make the day great fun for kids and families.  On offer in the marquee will be:

  • Children's entertainers, clowns and storytellers
  • Craft workshops and colouring in
  • Face painting, balloon modelling, magic acts
  • Games and competitions
  • ALL BHG YOUTH EVENTS ARE FREE OF CHARGE
We will also be running our traditional haggis hurlin' and caber toss competitions, along with some new events.

Several army vehicles, careers stands and performance teams will also be on offer - details will be available nearer the time.

The winners of the primary school poster competition will be announced and presented prizes in the marquee at 1pm.  Last year's winner, Danny Kyle of Balbardie, is pictured right with chieftain Cllr John McGinty.

Come and visit us for a great family day out.

There will be a children's section in the games magazine filled with puzzles, games, competitions and more.

All children visiting the marquee will receive a free goodie bag.  (While stocks last)
